I am Coach Rob
What’s up! I’m Rob, and I’ve been where you’ve been before.
Chances are that if you are on my website, you’re interested in fitness. Awesome! Maybe you’re just starting your journey. Maybe you know what you want to do but not how to do it. Or maybe you aren’t even sure what you want to do! That’s all okay. I’m here to help.
This was me back in 2009. I was well over 300 pounds—perhaps 320 or 330 or so. I don’t know the exact number since I didn’t like looking at scales too much!
I had a hard time finding clothes. I didn’t like seeing myself in pictures. I was horribly self-conscious. There were theme park rides I couldn’t go on. When I went on an airplane, I took up at least a seat and a half.
I started my weight loss journey in about 2011 with my father when we went on a diet plan. I lost 80 pounds, but had little in the way of muscle.
I gained weight back until I was around 260ish. I had been focusing more on gaining strength than losing weight, doing body weight exercises in the back yard but still not eating very well.
In late 2017, I moved to Brandon and I decided it was time to get serious. I joined a gym and began working with the man who became my personal trainer—and later, friend and mentor. He inspired me to become a personal trainer and now I help other people to do it too!
Today I have lost over 120 pounds. I am stronger and more confident than ever. My journey was not easy or short and I took more than a few detours—but I learned so much in the process. About myself, fitness, and people. That’s the reason I can and indeed want to help you.
Whether you want to lose weight, gain muscle, build stamina, or strengthen a dodgy knee—I can help.
But remember. We are a team. I don’t make people fit. I don’t wave a wand and cast a spell. We will reach your goals—but only if we work together! Ultimately, no matter what I do as your coach, it comes down to you to put in the effort.
I know what it’s like to have people hounding you to get fit—and I also know from experience that for most of us, this is the opposite of motivational.
But! It’s also true that no one except you can make the decision to pursue personal fitness.
